Personal Experiments

Testing ideas, habits, and hypotheses to optimize life and work; n=1. I admit this to be unscientific.

In Progress
Strength Training Experiment
Jan 1, 2023 - Present

Testing the LULU-RRR training split for optimal strength gains, recovery, and muscle growth.

Results:

Initial findings: Higher frequency training showing reduced soreness and better strength progression with improved technique maintenance.

Planned
Meditation Practice
Jun 1, 2023 - Present

Planning to implement daily 20-minute meditation sessions to measure impact on stress levels, focus, and emotional regulation. Currently gathering baseline data.

Why I Run Personal Experiments

I believe in the power of systematic experimentation to optimize life and work. By treating personal habits and routines as testable hypotheses, I can discover what truly works for me rather than relying on conventional wisdom or one-size-fits-all advice.

My Experimental Framework

  1. Identify a variable - Something specific I want to test or improve
  2. Form a hypothesis - What I expect to happen based on research
  3. Design the experiment - Create a protocol with clear parameters
  4. Track data - Collect objective and subjective measurements
  5. Analyze results - Determine what worked and what didn't
  6. Implement findings - Integrate successful practices into my life
